Maui 2010 - Ocean Sailing

Without any hesitation or doubt, my absolute favorite activity to do in Hawaii is to get out on a nice sailboat and play in the ocean! For as long as I can remember a trip to Hawaii has always meant spending a good portion of a day (if not the entire day) out sailing. This trip was no different! Of course sailing in Hawaii spoils your soul! First off, the weather is perfect almost every morning with clear skies and welcoming seas. Second, marine life is overly abundant so you are practically guaranteed to race with the dolphins, swim with the turtles, and see just about every tropical fish you can dream up! Lastly, Hawaii is known for its afternoon winds and being out on the water this is no different. The trade winds that come south down the west side of Maui in the afternoon are the final touch on an otherwise perfect day as your sails fill with wind and you feel the boat being picked up as it swiftly cuts through the ocean.
